At CHARMA, our pieces are made with 304L stainless steel and 18k gold PVD coating. PVD (Physical Vapour Deposition) is a vacuum coating process known for creating a harder, more wear-resistant finish with strong resistance to tarnishing and corrosion. That said, like all jewellery, your piece will stay at its best for longer with proper care.
How to care for your piece
To help maintain the finish and shine of your jewellery, we recommend:
- gently wiping your piece with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth after wear
- cleaning only with mild soap and lukewarm water when needed, then drying thoroughly
- storing your jewellery in a dry place, ideally separately from other pieces to reduce scratching and rubbing
- allowing perfumes, lotions, sunscreen, fake tan, and skincare to dry fully before putting your jewellery on
What to avoid
For the best long-term wear, avoid exposing your jewellery to:
- chlorine and bleach
- harsh cleaning products or chemical cleaners
- abrasive cloths, rough polishing materials, or scrubbing tools
- prolonged moisture and repeated contact with water
- perfume, hairspray, lotion, sunscreen, and fake tan directly on the jewellery
Best practice for longevity
While PVD coating is designed to be more durable than standard fashion plating and holds up well to everyday wear, care still matters. To preserve the finish as long as possible, we recommend removing your jewellery before swimming, showering, exercising, or cleaning.
